Simon Miller has reportedly joined the cast of The Vampire Diaries.
Zap2It says that the actor will play George Lockwood, the patriarch of the family.
He is expected to make his debut in the fourth episode of the show’s new season in a flashback scene.
Filming is reportedly underway on the episode, which will introduce the Lockwood ancestors for the first time.
Rumors have also suggested that George will be forced to work with Katherine (Nina Dobrev) despite the rivalry between werewolves and vampires.
Miller has previously had guest roles in CSI: Miami and Gossip Girl.

The Vampire Diaries star Steven R. McQueen has admitted that he enjoys exploring the dark side of his character Jeremy Gilbert.
He told HollywoodNews.com that the character will continue to evolve in the forthcoming second season.
“Jeremy has been one of the most favorite characters I’ve ever played, just because he has gone through so much, and he has been forced to make so many changes,” explained the actor. “You can only be hurt for so long before you turn hard. And that has been interesting to see his progression as the series has gone along.”
However, McQueen – the grandson of Hollywood legend Steve McQueen – refused to confirm whether Jeremy will become a vampire in the new season.
“Obviously I can’t say whether he makes that change or not,” he teased. “But I can say that Jeremy has been pushed around a lot. [In the new season] he starts to push back and stand his ground. He also begins to become a little more cold and calculated.”
The second season of The Vampire Diaries begins September 9 on the CW.
QQOTP: Do you think Jeremy should be a vampire or a human?
All right “Vampire Diaries” fanatics, get ready to add another book to your must-read-list. Most fans of the show know that it was based off a novel, which told the story from Elena’s point of view (it is her diary after all)! But now it looks like another major character is going to get his say.
According to EW, “The Stefan Diaries #1: Origins” will hit bookstands in November and focus on Stefan’s relationship with Damon and Katherine. The books (yes, it’s a trilogy!) should be especially exciting for fans who love “VD” flashback episodes because they are set during the Civil-War era.
Of course, there’s one minor catch, L. J. Smith, the author of the original “Vampire Diaries” book series, will not be writing the Stefan prequels. Maybe she’s working on Damon’s diary? A girl can only hope!
It’s here! A new theme made by Me & tyd., so hope you like it =)
